playroom update (toy storage + creative way to display kid’s art!)

Full disclosure: our playroom is our family room. Our family room is our playroom. I want it to be super functional but I also want it to look semi nice/organized because I see it like…all the time. With that being said, I had a ton of fun putting together this space for my babies!

The goal was to create a spot where Greylen could color and do art – she’s obsessed right now! The metal organizer from TJMaxx holds her paper and coloring books. On top, I used tin buckets from the Target dollar spot to organize her markers, crayons, etc. The cube storage unit is great because cute bins can hide all kindssss of little toys. I love that the neutral storage matches the rest of the room and some of the wooden toys up top add a pop of color…it is a playroom after all. Well, and a family room. But I think I mentioned that already, didn’t I?! 😉 Before, we had everything in a closet but since moving some toys here where Greylen can easily reach them, she’s way more independent when playing. Win, win!

You already know I love my Perkie Prints (first featured in this gift guide) and I also added a ‘look what i made’ sign from Keystone Steel Co. to this corner. Like I mentioned, Grey is super into art right now and she gets so excited to display her work. It adds such a fun element to the room! I can’t wait to see all of the masterpieces that hang from this sign throughout the years. Be sure to follow me on Instagram to see a couple more of my Keystone Steel Co. pieces!
