Over the knee boots are just as popular as ever this year and I don’t think they are going anywhere any time soon!
Most OTK boots come in either suede or leather. Personally, I love the look of suede for fall and winter so that’s usually my choice. However, if you live in a really rainy or snowy place, leather can be a little more forgiving when it comes to water and salt stains. And, in my opinion, leather can look a little more dressy than suede. Regardless, make sure you waterproof your boots as soon as you get them. Don’t ruin your investment by getting caught in bad weather!
As for color, it really just depends on what clothes you already have in your closet. I always love a good tan/camel boot because I think it goes with everything! But, if you wear a ton of black, gray or black may be better options for you. I tend to stick with neutrals when investing in boots. Cool colors are fun but you’ll get way more wear out of the neutrals.
It’s easy to incorporate your OTK boots into a ton of your fall and winter outfits. Try them with:
- A cute dress…they automatically make summer looking dresses work for fall!
- Leggings and a longer top or tunic and a blanket scarf
- Over denim paired with a chunky sweater or flannel
