It’s going to be a busy week. Why you ask?! Because next week, we leave for SPAIN! We booked it on total a whim about a month ago and we leave next Tuesday. We will be flying into Madrid, staying there for a couple days and then visiting Majorca for a couple days. So, I’m posting today to ask for your help (…oh and to share this amazing
Chicwish top). If you have any suggestions for those two areas, please send them my way or leave them in the comments section below.
And, if you need me, I’ll be outfit planning and learning how to order wine in Spanish (that’s really all I need to know, right?)!

top: chicwish (on sale for $34!)
jeans: forever 21 (similar here, here and here)
bracelet: h&m (similar)
necklace: charlotte russe
clutch: clare v (my fave!)

Once upon a time, I lived in Madrid!!!! More than individual places, make sure you eat jamón ibérico, tortilla, tinto de verano, and churros y chocolate. None of those really exist here. In terms of activities:
– Zara (it’s WAY cheaper in Spain)
– Wander around Malasaña (one of the trendier neighborhoods)
– Templo de Debod’s view of the city
– Parque del Buen Retiro for a picnic, walk and be sure to stop by the Palacio de Cristal
– Reina Sofia is worth it for Picasso’s Guernica alone, but Prado is probably a better museum option overall.
– Browse El Rastro (the open air flea market held every Sunday), make sure to stop by El Capricho Extremeño for the most unreal open faced sammies. It’s worth waiting in line, eating them on the curb and people watching.
Hope you have the best time!!

Ah, Rach!!! So excited for you. I went to school in Madrid for a semester!
I agree with all of Olivia’s suggestions above, and a few more below 🙂
-Check out the Royal Palace – it’s definitely worth going on a tour to see how magnificent it is – and the plaza around it has beautiful views
-Prado Museum (every tourist book will tell you to see it, and it’s the coolest with extremely famous art)
-If you have time, take a day trip to explore the nearby city of Toledo (you can take the Ave train to get there and it’s only about a 30 min ride) – super old town on a mountaintop with cobblestone streets
-SHOP – I think you’ll be there during the crazy spring/summer sale – when I was there, tons of stores had 50% off everything (over by Puerta del Sol)
-Tapas/sangria are cheaper and better if you stray from Plaza Mayor, where all the tourists generally congregate
Also, bring your college ID if you still have it to get discounts at the museums ;). Have so much fun!!
