striped dress + freddy hill design

Did you notice my new bag?! A couple weeks ago, the team at Freddy Hill Design invited me to their studio for a visit and a tour. I’m so glad I went! Freddy Hill Design is a local Cleveland company specializing in hand crafted furniture and now, handbags. Really, really beautiful handbags. I learned all about how they make their bags, where they get their leather (locally of course) and got to see the team in action. Each bag takes hours (yes, hours!) to make. Everything is cut by hand and put together by Nina, the handbag expert! After hearing stories of her grandma teaching her to sew and hearing about her journey leading up to her employment at Freddy Hill, I’m truly honored to be carrying one of her bags. On top of that, the hide on this tote is artisan painted so no two bags are the same – so cool!
I love small businesses because they really listen to their customer. They had been getting some complaints about the hide fading where the bag hits the hip and so they added this little leather detail on the back to fix the issue (pictured below). Not only does it make the bag more functional, it’s one of my favorite design features!
So, if you need any custom furniture (don’t even get me started on how cool that stuff is!) or a new bag, please please check out Freddy Hill Deisgn. You won’t be sorry!
