things i love about living by the lake

One of my all time favorite things about Cleveland is that it’s on Lake Erie. Even though it was kinda cold this past weekend, we had so much family fun outside by the water! Here are the top reasons I love living by the lake!

A “vacation” is a short drive away. Whenever I’m feeling stressed or anxious, a body of water is my  happy place. There is nothing like the sound of waves to instantly put me in a more relaxed mood. And, no matter where you are in Cleveland, the lake is a short drive (or in some cases, a walk) away!

There’s always something to do, especially in the summer. Whether it’s a boat ride to the flats, a trip to Kelley’s Island, a yoga class on the beach, paddle boarding or simply just reading a book by the water, there’s always something to do outside by the lake on a nice day.

Beaches. Some of our favorite family memories have been made on the beach. The best part of being so close is that you don’t even have to make a full day out of it…you can just go to the beach for 20 minutes at lunch or after work! Some of my favorites in the area are Huntington, Edgewater and anything in Marblehead!

Outdoor dining. Eating, drinking and pretty much anything else is better by the water. Cleveland has so many great patios with amazing views!

The views. Speaking of the views…the best! I could sit outside and look at the lake all day long!

Sunsets. Nothing beats a sunset over a body of water. A view like this + a big glass of wine = the perfect night.

Grey loves it! We definitely have an outdoor-loving girl on our hands. Give this babe a bathing suit and take her to the lake and she’ll be your best friend forever.
